Mandy is by the notable German sire 'Apslau' whose offspring have won over
17.000 DM in prize money in affiliated competition. He has sired champions
of stallion grading and the highest priced pony to be sold at the 1996 Dutch
auction. Apslau is also the sire of
Bernwode
Aslan.
Mandy's dam, Melissa, is by the German bred pony stallion, Caid who appears
in the pedigree of many successful competition ponies including our own
Bernwode Dorina. The European Team dressage
pony, Caesar, ridden so successfully by Victoria Malloy for Great Britain,
is also a descendant of this stallion.
Mandy herself was twice Champion mare for the Oldenburg district qualifying
for the National Bundesstuten show as a three year old. Here she achieved
a remarkable third place competing against three AND four year old mares.
Having produced an extravagant moving filly at four years old, Mandy went
on to collect some very impressive results under saddle in both FN Dressage
and Jumping competition.
This lovely pony has now returned to her stud career and gave us an
athletic filly foal in 2003,
Bernwode
Nairobi, by the recently imported Westfalen pony stallion,
Nibelungenheld IV. In 2005, Mandy had a stunning colt,
Bernwode Bugatti, by Bernwode Brokat.
In 2006, Mandy repeated this, having another lovely Bernwode Brokat colt -
Bernwode Broadway. Mandy had a year
off from breeding in 2007 but is expecting a 2008 foal by Caesar 171.
