PEDIGREE

Bernwode Nirvana offers outstanding movement and jumping ability. His father, Nevado, has twice been a member of Germany's FEI European Pony Event Team whilst siring many successful dressage and jumping ponies.

Bernwode Nirvana’s dam, Sina, is by the remarkably athletic German pony sire, Fritzchen who, despite his height of only 138 cms successfully competed at Advanced Medium level dressage against large warmblood horses. Fritzchen also achieved a high score for his jumping ability at stallion grading.

Bernwode Nirvana was backed in 2005 and he started his ridden career with Louise Crutcher.  Nirvana and Louise were second in the 4 year old Dressage Pony Championship at the prestigious BD Dressage Young Horse and Breeding Championships in June 2005.  An impressive result considering he was only backed in March 2005 and this was his first show!

Nirvana's first foal, Bernwode Nerys, was born in 2006 and a further crop arrived in 2007.  Nirvana has now been sold and has spent 2008 concentrating on his competition career with Fiona Wood.  This partnership is now competing at FEI level Dressage and has recently been selected for the GB Pony Squad winter training.  We wish them an exciting and successful 2009 competition season.
