His sire, Bernwode Brokat, boasts an outstanding temperament, good conformation and excellent jumping ability which, combined with his wonderful paces and proven pedigree ensures a 'top class' sire of sports ponies. Bernwode Brokat's bloodlines trace back to some of our superb Welsh ponies such as Bwlch Hill Wind. He also carries the time honoured Downland blood found in so many of the most successful ponies in both Great Britain and mainland Europe. Brokat's sire Brillant was one of the most prolific sires of successful dressage and jumping ponies in Germany, having competed himself to a high level in both disciplines in open classes. For three consecutive years he was the top sire of German dressage ponies and within the top three sires over a period of six years! Cornelia, Brokat's dam, is by the notable pony stallion Diamant II who won a Gold Medal for Germany as a member of the 1982 European Pony Dressage Team in Copenhagen. He too has sired many approved sons and State Premium daughters.
Broadway's dam, Bernwode Mandy is a 1993 German State Premium pony mare who is branded and approved by both the Weser Ems (Oldenburg) and SPSS Head Studbook (UK). Mandy is by the notable German sire 'Apslau' whose offspring have won over 17.000 DM in prize money in affiliated competition. He has sired champions of stallion grading and the highest priced pony to be sold at the 1996 Dutch auction.

Nerys' sire,
Bernwode Nirvana, offers outstanding movement and jumping ability. His
father, Nevado, has twice been a member of Germany's FEI European Pony
Event Team whilst siring many successful dressage and jumping ponies. Bernwode Nirvana’s dam, Sina,
is by the remarkably athletic German pony sire, Fritzchen who, despite his
height of only 138 cms successfully competed at Advanced Medium level
dressage against large warmblood horses. Fritzchen also achieved a high
score for his jumping ability at stallion grading.
Nerys' dam, Bernwode Dorina is a descendant of the notable warmblood stallion 'Furioso II' who produced more than fifty five graded sons for Germany. Her Grandsire 'Constantin' is a prolific sire of winning ponies including 'Cash and Go' the 6 yr. Bundeschampion in 1996 and 'Konrad' the 4 yr old Bundeschampion in 1995 . Both these sons were members of the German gold medal team at the 2000 European Pony Dressage Championships and Konrad has proved to be one of Germany’s most valuable European Team ponies to date.
