Bernwode Top Model (known as "Buffy") is an exciting prospect as a sports pony carrying some of the most successful German bloodlines. She offers excellent conformation, movement and has great presence. As a four week old foal, she went to the Futurity Evaluations at The Grange and excelled on an overall score of 8.79 gaining a High First Premium, not only winning the Sports Pony section but becoming the Highest Placed Dressage Foal of the day against all the horses! Her sire, Top Yellow, is a licensed Westphalian stallion bred by the notable German dressage trainer Johan Hinnemann. Trained by Johan and his daughter Betinna and ridden by Eva Nolden, Top Yellow won the 1996 German Dressage Championships for Young Pony Stallions. The next year, now 4 years old and ridden by Betinna Hinnemann, he won again. In November 1997, Top Yellow attended the Westphalian Pony Stallion licensing was Champion, with the highest score they had ever awarded to a pony stallion. Top Yellow was then sold to Delphine Meiresonne who rode him to become the Guelders Champion at L1 level in Holland in 1998. In 1999, Top Yellow started his FEI career and, ridden by Delphine, quickly started scoring in excess of 65% including competing internationally for Belgium and winning the Consolation test at CDI-P Hagen. Since then, Top Yellow has been ridden by a number of young pony riders, first in Austria, then more recently in the UK.
Buffy's dam,
Bernwode Dorina
is a descendant of the notable warmblood stallion 'Furioso II' who
produced more than fifty five graded sons for Germany. Her Grandsire
'Constantin' is a prolific sire of winning ponies including 'Cash and
Go' the 6 year old Bundeschampion in 1996 and 'Konrad' the 4 year old Bundeschampion in 1995. Both these sons were members of the German gold
medal team at the 2000 European Pony Dressage Championships and Konrad
has proved to be one of Germany’s most valuable European Team ponies to
date.
